THE RELEVANCE OF THE GENDER EQUALITY PHENOMENON TO GLOBAL PROCESSES AND NATIONAL APPROACHES

This article analyzes the essence of the concept of gender equality, its formation under the influence of social, historical and cultural factors, as well as its role in modern society. The study describes the interpretations of gender roles as a social construct, the definitions given by international organizations such as the UN, UNESCO, and the relevance of gender equality at the global level. The article covers the position of women in ancient societies, women's activities in the history of Central Asia, and the influence of Islamic culture on women's rights based on scientific sources.
